Recently, the Monte Vista Coop presented the Monte Vista Emergency Food Bank with a check from the Coop, along with matching funds from Land O'Lakes, Inc., which said as a part of their commitment to rural communities where Land O' Lakes members, employees, and facilities are located, they are pleased to match donations by member cooperatives which help enhance the quality of life in their local communities. The funds from Land O' Lakes, Inc., represents their "feeding our communities" hunger initiative match of the Monte vista Coop's donation to the food bank. Pictured is General Manager, Mike Kelly, presenting the checks to Monte Vista Emergency Food Bank Director, Trish Jones. Also pictured are MVC employees, Shannon Culver, Anna Lopez and Denise Temple. Also, the employees of the MVC have had a coat and food drive for the last few years and this year's was a huge success. At their employee lunch in December, employees brought non perishable food items for the food bank. With the assistance from the community, they were able to assist five organizations in need. They gladly adoped two families for the holiday season also. MVC especially thanks Mortenson Construction, who donated coats, toys and clothes.
