Job Title: C-Store Clerk

Reports to: C-Store Manager

Status: Part-time, Non-exempt

Starting Pay: $14.42/hour

Timeframe: Position will remain open until filled, estimated 2-4 weeks

 

 

Summary:

The C-Store Clerk reports to the C-Store Manager and is primarily responsible for providing exceptional customer service to those who walk in the door. The C-Store Clerk will also be responsible for accurately operating the cash register, processing customer transactions, stocking shelves, preparing food orders, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Success in this role will require a positive attitude, great work ethic, organizational skills, and people skills!

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers and ascertain their requirements
  • Maintain the appearance and cleanliness of the store before, during and after shift
  • Stocking supplies and ensure that the store is always looking at its best
  • Ensure kitchen equipment, counters, self-service area, and restrooms are sanitized and in good working condition
  • Receive deliveries, move, sort, and stack cases
  • Handle customer complaints and comments
  • Ensure food is prepared, stored, and handled correctly by following food safety guidelines
  • Operate the cash register and processing credit card and membership transactions
  • Understand the safety and security features of the gas station and comply with safety, environmental and security standards. Inform management when any alarms are present
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience:

  • Customer Service: 1 year (Preferred)

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Valid Driver’s License

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
