Job Title: Energy Director

Range: $3,269 – $4,423/biweekly

Summary:

Reports to the CEO/President and is responsible for ensuring financial goals and targets are met by effectively managing the business. This role will be responsible for maintaining and managing inventory, while ensuring all management reporting is complete, accurate submitted in a timely manner. Demonstrate responsibility regarding the care, condition, safe handling and always securing of all company and customer equipment and property. Maintain professionalism, integrity, security, image and confidentiality of information and records as required by the position.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide resolution to customer complaints and/or inquiries
  • Crosstrain in the service and delivery area to ensure timely response to general customers’ needs in propane and refined fuels where offered
  • Take responsibility for team regarding all aspects of each individual’s daily tasks and actions
  • Manages the pricing strategy while working closely with Inventory and upper management
  • Works closely with Director of Marketing on advertisement
  • Proactively develop long and short-range planning, policies, programs, and objectives of Monte Vista Cooperative in relation to the Energy Department
  • Meets with customers to understand their energy and lubricant system needs
  • Stay up to date on current regulations for propane, gas, diesel, etc. at the Federal and State level
  • Maintaining knowledge on tax regulations for all energy products at the Federal and State level
  • Responsible for oversight and management of CDL & Hazmat training
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain good customer relations
  • Must be able and willing to work alone, schedule work as needed and be on-call
  • Oversight of entire Energy department, setting goals and expectations and holding them accountable for performance
  • Assist with dispatching CDL drivers and maintaining schedules
  • Self-motivated to help make deliveries when staff is short handed
  • Must have the ability to effectively lead employee meetings as well as present information and ideas
  • Provide advice and approval regarding staffing needs and decisions
  • Collaborate and assist the Safety Director with the annual insurance audit, policy development and implementation. Ensure safety compliance standards are being achieved
  • Conduct safety meetings and trainings as needed
  • Oversee tank file maintenance and accuracy
  • Administer equipment needs, replacements and maintenance at all locations
  • Manage each bulk plant location
  • Follow EPA and DOT compliance
  • Continual CETP education requirements
  • Monitor CDL driver qualifications, keeping licenses valid, Homeland Security clearance, and valid DOT physical requirements
  • Train and operate Transloader unload
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Previous experience in business development or sales activities within the Oil, Gas, and Propane Industry with a specific focus on sales and operations as well as progressive experience in managerial roles.
  • Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in management of commercial business lines
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • CDL Class A or B with Hazmat Endorsements or ability to obtain

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
