Job Title: Applicator

Department: Fertilizer

Reports to: Fertilizer Director

Status: Full-time, Non-exempt

Pay Range: $18- $20/hour

Timeframe: Position will be open until filled, estimated 2-6 weeks

 

 

Summary:

The Applicator reports to the Fertilizer Director and is responsible for applying fertilizer and chemicals on ground and crops. This role will require equipment to be maintained in order to provide accurate and timely applications. Success in this role will require a positive attitude, great work ethic, organizational skills, and people skills!

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Communicates with Fertilizer Director and Operations concerning daily activities, while also keeping lines of communication open with Sales Agronomists
  • Custom application of fertilizers and other chemicals
  • Must know, understand, and comply with all safety and government regulations
  • Basic knowledge of all chemicals and their abilities of control
  • Provides excellent customer service by managing difficult or emotional situations; responding promptly to customer needs, resolving questions concerns, and meeting commitments
  • Record daily application logs
  • Operate all equipment and vehicles according to MVC policy and procedure along will all local, state, and federal laws
  • Occasional mixing and blending of chemical and fertilizer
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • One to three years of related experience and/or training
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • CDL License, Class A with hazmat endorsement

Must have the ability to walk short distances, and/or drive a vehicle to deliver and pick up materials. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
